Discover Thailand in 2 weeks.

Starting from Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, we head east towards the province of Kanchanaburi. A nature stop, where we discover the River Kwai and its bridge, spend time with elephants, and swim in the waterfalls of Erawan National Park.

We then immerse ourselves in the local Thai life in Amphawa, where we enjoy the floating market before heading down to the coast to spend a few days by the sea on the island of Koh Phangan.

Day 1Welcome and transfer to Ayutthaya

  • Welcome by our team, then transfer to Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

    Check-in at the hotel for some rest. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the pool or take a first stroll around the city.

  • Overnight stay at the Iudia on the River

  • After breakfast, we set off to explore the historic center of the city, including the Wat Mahathat temple, dating back to the late 14th century. We continue to the Wat Phra Sri Sanphet temple, which once served as a royal temple and is therefore the largest in the city; we finally discover the Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon and its reclining Buddha.

  • After lunch, we head to Kanchanaburi, where we will take the time to visit the large Wat Tham Sua temple, accessible by a short cable car ride (following "local" standards!!).

    The day will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
    
  • Settle in at the Royal Riverkwai Resort Spa, in a Deluxe room.

  • Departure for the station and boarding around 10:40 am on the famous "Death Railway". made famous by the story of the movie "The Bridge on the River Kwai," for about 1 hour by train to the west and the Sai Yok region, located 70 km west at the end of the train line.

  • Transfer to Elephant Haven where we have lunch.

    Meet your guide and the Mahouts. Together, you will prepare food for the elephants before getting to know them while feeding them. We then go for a walk in the surrounding forest with the pachyderms, our guide taking this opportunity to teach us more about the animal.

    Then, we will have the chance to observe them during mud games before accompanying them to the river to give them a bath.

    In the end, we return to the camp where we can capture one last time our meeting with the pachyderms.

    Return in the late afternoon to Kanchanaburi (60 km or about 1 hour drive to the hotel).

  • Departure in the morning for the Erawan National Park and waterfalls (1-hour drive).
    A stunning waterfall with 7 tiers. (Note: From the 3rd tier onwards, the terrain is very slippery.)

  • Return to our hotel in the mid-afternoon and the rest of the day is free to enjoy the hotel’s pool.

    The day will be accompanied by an English-speaking guide.

  • This morning, we head to Amphawa, famous for its floating markets.

  • In the morning, we set off to meet the Ban Bang Phlap community. We hop on our bikes for a tour of the coconut plantations, where we see how coconut sugar is made. During our visit, we encounter a group of women busy preparing dishes with bamboo, lime, and papaya. We then continue to an orchard where organic grapefruits are cultivated. We proceed through the countryside to a traditional kite-making workshop. We return to the starting point for a tasting of coconut and grapefruit.

  • Visit to the colorful, lively, and flavorful Damnoen Saduak floating market. By boat, along the narrow canals of the market, we discover stalls of goods cheerfully balanced on the water. We negotiate for fresh fruits, clothing, or Thai masks from vendors proudly wearing straw hats and brightly colored dresses, all while on a wooden boat.

  • Nightfall, boat trip on the canal. Our boatman picks us up from the quayside, and we set off on a mini-excursion in search of fireflies that illuminate the waters.

  • We start with a quick stop at the Mae Klong Railway Market, where four times a day, fruit and vegetable stalls hurriedly fold away as the train passes through the market.

  • Then, a half-day of discovering life in the mangroves. By boat, we explore this fragile ecosystem. During our excursion, we discover the way of life of the fishermen (here clam fishing is done from a surfboard) and visit a shellfish farm.

    Lunch of specialties.

  • We then head to Nakhon Pathom, home to the Wat Phra Pathom Chedi, the tallest stupa in Thailand.

  • In the evening, we board our night train to Surat Thani. Overnight in an air-conditioned 2nd class sleeper compartment.

Day 7Relaxation in Koh Phangan

  • Early morning arrival at Surat Thani train station (05:35). We are welcomed by our driver, who will take us to the pier where we can catch our boat to the islands. We will have breakfast at the train station or on the way (not included).

    We then board the ferry for the crossing to Koh Phangan.

    Famous for its renowned Full Moon Party, Koh Phangan has much more to offer its visitors. Still authentic, Koh Phangan has developed without overly altering its natural landscapes and stunning white sandy beaches. Predominantly made up of Than Sadet National Park, Koh Phangan protects and respects its lush nature, which is home to incredible wildlife and flora. Here, people enjoy the southern parties, but they especially appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the west and north coasts.

    Upon arrival on the island, we are transferred to our resort.

  • Check-in for 5 nights at the Maehaad Bay Resort in a standard room.

  • Let's take advantage of these 3 days in Koh Phangan to relax and enjoy the activities on site (not included).

    Let's treat ourselves to the hotel's spa, or why not plan some water activities: kite surfing, jet skiing, snorkeling, diving, kayaking…

    And if we want to explore the surroundings, we can go for day hikes, take a boat trip around the island.

  • Today we are going on an excursion to Ang Thong National Marine Park, a protected archipelago of 42 wild and uninhabited islands. Famous for its natural beauty with its islets covered in lush vegetation and beautiful white sandy beaches, its landscape is often compared to that of Halong Bay in Vietnam.

    The boat leaves from Thong Sala pier around 9:00 am and heads towards the national park, which we will reach after about 1.5 hours of navigation. Arriving at the first islands of Koh Wao and Koh Tai, we can swim and especially explore the marine life while snorkeling.

    After lunch, we arrive at Koh Wua Ta Lap, and its white sandy beach, Ao Ka. From there, relax in the crystal-clear waters of the area, or take a hike that will offer you a breathtaking view of the surroundings.

    The last stop of our day is the island of Mae Ko, or Mother Island, which has a superb beach and an inland lagoon with emerald green waters aptly named Emerald Lake (Thale Nai).

    Return around 6:00 pm to Koh Phangan.

  • Departure in the morning from the hotel to the pier and boat crossing to Mae Nam pier on Koh Samui.

    Our driver will be waiting for us upon arrival at the pier. Transfer to Koh Samui airport (30 minutes)

  • We board our return flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival at Bangkok airport, your driver will be waiting for you. Transfer to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free.

  • Settling in at the Shanghai Mansion, a boutique hotel ideally located in the heart of the capital's Chinatown.

  • In the evening, you can freely stroll through the Chinatown district, wander the alleys overflowing with all kinds of shops. In the early evening, the night market sets up on Yaowarat Road and its illuminated side streets, bringing new life to the neighborhood. You will find all kinds of Thai and Chinese specialties for dinner there.

  • Departure in the morning to reach the pier and take the public boat-buses to the center, on the right bank and the Pak Klong Talad flower market district.

  • We start our day with a visit to the Grand Palace of Bangkok, built in 1782, which includes several magnificent buildings, including the Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), which houses a beautiful Emerald Buddha dating back to the 14th century.

  • Then, we walk to Wat Pho, one of the oldest temples in Bangkok, to see its reclining Buddha.

  • We then cross the river by a small boat to visit Wat Arun, the "Temple of Dawn," located on the right bank.

  • Private traditional long-tail boat taxi ride on the Chao Phraya River, one of the most important rivers in the country. Discover the Venice of the East and the traditional life of the city's inhabitants, half of whom still live by the water.
