Day 3Kaeng Krachan – Pranburi

Day 3Kaeng Krachan – Pranburi

  • We start in the hills of Kaeng Krachan and descend throughout the day to Hua Hin and the Pranburi beach. Today, we leave our hotel on country roads and pass through mango, papaya, lemon orchards, and beautiful pineapple plantations as far as the eye can see. We soak up life in the Thai countryside as we travel along isolated roads that are a paradise for cyclists.

We continue our journey to the lesser-known Tham Laplae monastery, where we visit an amazing cave temple and find refuge from the heat, before traveling a short distance to Monsoon Valley, our lunch spot overlooking beautiful vineyards (tasting possible).

After a well-deserved long break, we cycle to a plateau that seems forgotten in time and where life seems to move at the pace of the sun.

Arriving in Pranburi in the late afternoon marks the beginning of what will become our daily routine: a refreshing swim in the hotel pool or in the Gulf of Thailand. Enjoy it!

  • We take the coastal road at sunrise towards Sam Roi Yot National Park (300 peaks), which is full of spectacular limestone formations and splendid marshes covered in lotus flowers. Breakfast time arrives in an exceptional spot after 22 km on peaceful roads as the countryside wakes up, before continuing to the highlight of the day: We stop by the water and take a boat to visit the majestic Phraya Nakhon cave and the incredible temple it houses.

Back on the bikes, we saddle up for a short distance on the main road to our very simple but very typical lunch spot, before returning to the coast through many small villages.

The final part of the journey takes us along the beach to Prachuap Khiri Khan. The town is known by locals as a charming beach destination with a relaxed atmosphere, where we will enjoy local specialties for dinner.

Day 5Prachuap Khiri Khan – Ban Krut

  • We leave the hotel and ride along the waterfront to reach the very quiet main road, crossing the military airstrip before a coffee break with local treats.

We continue far from tourist areas, alternating between beachside stretches and winding roads through coconut plantations that provide a welcome relative coolness. A peaceful and contemplative ride to savor…

We head towards our beachfront hotel for the day. It's now time to relax, listen to the waves, or stroll through the peaceful fishing village and see the daily task of net repair.

At sunset, don't miss the visit to Wat Tang Sai temple, perched on a hill with a breathtaking view of the beach. It was built to mark the 50th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's reign.

One of the most beautiful temples in Thailand!

Day 7Bang Saphan - Chumphon

  • We set off for our last day of cycling along the Royal Coastal Road, an incredible stretch that offers views of the sea and fishing villages on one side, and majestic mountains on the other. We cross the narrowest part of Thailand, where the border with Burma is sometimes less than 20 km away.

We pedal through rubber and palm plantations on some of the quietest roads until we reach the Kaeo Prasert temple, where we enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

From there, we continue riding on hilly roads to reach our seaside lunch spot and indulge again in delicious local specialties – or we decide to cover these few kilometers by vehicle if our legs have had enough.

We end the journey just north of Chumphon and enjoy one last swim in the Gulf of Thailand or in the soothing saltwater pool after all those kilometers!
