A bit of history

In its early days, Ao Nang was a small fishing village. Recognizing the enormous tourism potential of the region, several entrepreneurs established prestigious resorts and leisure centers. Notable establishments include Aonang Paradise Resort, De Malee Villa, Lotus Court Restaurant, and Ao Nang Bamboo Village. The town's development quickly followed suit.

Ao Nang is now a modern, clean, and naturally beautiful town. Mother Nature has shaped this region of the world remarkably. The area is renowned for its towering limestone cliffs, coral reefs, expansive beaches, and shallow waters.

The town thrives on local tourism. Many visitors stop here to access popular destinations like Railay Beach or the Hong Islands, stocking up on supplies before continuing their journeys with the famous long-tail boats.

How to get there?

To access Ao Nang, visitors coming from distant lands should first reach Krabi International Airport. From there, take local transportation to the road leading to Ao Nang. You can travel by taxi, bus, or rental car. The journey typically takes about thirty minutes.

Getting around Ao Nang

Numerous tuk-tuks crisscross Ao Nang and are the primary mode of transportation. Fares are generally inexpensive.

You can also rent a car for greater mobility or simply walk to stay active.

For boat trips to nearby islands, budget at least 100 baht per person.
