Between exploring the organic plantations and tasting local products, your visit will be magnificent.

Customers of this coffee plantation have the added value of knowing that they are making an eco-friendly gesture by contributing to the sustainability of Thai populations living in the highlands. They participate in preserving an indigenous way of life and a healthy environment free from pesticides.

Learning about organic coffee culture

Between tasting and discovery

The discovery of the Suan Lahu coffee plantation is very enriching in terms of knowledge. Indeed, you will learn a lot about the culture of organic coffee as well as its roasting. Of course, upon your arrival at the site, you can also participate in tasting the delicious aromas of this coffee roasted by the inhabitants of Suan Lahu, who will serve it to you themselves in a lovely cup.

Later on, you will be welcomed by your indigenous hosts. They will introduce you to Suan Lahu and the culture of organic coffee plants. The people working on-site are almost exclusively members of the Lahu ethnic minority who live in a neighboring village.

Explore the coffee plantations with a Lahu guide

Information and exoticism

A Lahu guide will take you to explore the 80-rai (12-hectare) plantations, with 60 planted with Arabica coffee and fruit trees. The forest makes up the remaining 20 rai. The discoveries are astonishing, and the landscapes are radiant. After seeing lychees, lemons, and avocados, among others, you will have time to engage in your first volunteer activity. Several seasonal activities are possible on the farm, ranging from caring for farm animals (pigs and chickens) to freeing plants strangled by vines to grading, roasting, and harvesting coffee beans (add harvest date). This will keep you occupied until lunchtime, during which you will have the chance to taste a traditional homemade vegetarian dish prepared by your Lahu hosts. You will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee as well as tea, cinnamon, seasonal fruits (all from organic farming), and Lahu artisanal objects.
