Siam Square

Nestled amidst the commercial giants of Siam Discovery, MBK, and Siam Center, Siam Square boasts numerous shops and small stalls of all kinds, perfect for a day of shopping in Bangkok.

A favored spot among Thai youth, Siam Square also draws tourists with its affordable prices and variety of products, ranging from local designers to clothing chains, as well as cafes and restaurants. There's no doubt you'll find yourself at Siam Square to satisfy your shopping cravings before the end of your stay in Thailand.

History

The first buildings in Siam Square were erected on Chulalongkorn University property to serve as rental spaces for university students in the mid-1960s.

Initially housing a few ordinary stalls to cater to student needs, it later evolved into a hub for branded boutiques. Over time, it attracted more investors, who built restaurants and hotels in the vicinity. An air-conditioned walkway (Sky Bridge) was created to facilitate access to the numerous shops.

As a property of Chulalongkorn University, Siam Square is managed by the university's Property Management Office, known locally as Chula.

Drawing many Thais and millions of tourists each year, Siam Square has become inseparable from the city of Bangkok and is now renowned as a downtown landmark.
