This beautiful place is situated 35 Kilometres away from the historical city of Agra. This site is also amongst the most visited spots in India and this is the reason why it is mentioned among the World Heritage Sites. Some of the main attraction of Fatehpur Sikri are: Buland Darwaza : Being the highest (53.63m) gateways in the world, it is a stupefying example of Mughal architecture. In order to monumentalize his victory over Gujarat, the Mughal Emperor Akbar built this beautiful gateway. Panch Mahal : The five storey building is known for its remarkable architecture. Built by Akbar, it served as a shelter of relaxation and entertainment for the royal household. Tomb of Salim Chisti : Built in the honour of Sheikh Salim Chisti by Emperor Akbar, this tomb is an example of finest Mughal architecture. It is believed that Akbar was blessed with a baby boy by the blessing of Sheikh Salim Chisti and this is the reason why a wide range of women come here every year to pray for a child.
